レベッカは住んでいるマンションで困っていることがあり、大家さんに電話する。
レベッカ「もしもし、２０２号のレベッカですけど。」 大家さん「あーレベッカさん、どないされました？」 レベッカ「ちょっと困ってることあるんです。まずね、シャワーが漏れるんですよ、毎回きつく締めてるんですけど。それと、リビングの壁に小さい穴が開いててね。昨日まで気付かなかったくらい、ちっちゃい穴なんやけど。別に日常生活に支障をきたすわけちゃうけど、直してもらえたら嬉しいわ。」 大家さん「よっしゃ、じゃあ今日二か所とも直しますわ。他ないですか？」 レベッカ「もう一個実はね、夜にホールのとこで誰か鼻歌うたってはるんよ。時々それで寝られへんくて。」 大家さん「そりゃ申し訳ない。それ僕やわ！時々寝られへん時ホールの掃除してるんですわ。」 レベッカ「あら、大家さんやったん！ごめんなさいね。それやったら気になさらんといて。子守歌やと思て聞いとくわ。(笑）」
Rebecca calls her landlord because she has some problems with her apartment.
Rebecca "Hello, this is Rebecca, who lives in room 202." Landlord "Hello, Rebecca. How can I help you?" Rebecca "I found some problems with the apartment. First thing, the shower drips even though I turn off the tap tight after every use. Second, there‘s a small hole in the wall in the living room. I didn't notice until yesterday, and I don't think it causes any problems day-to-day, but I would be very happy if you could fix it."
Landlord "Alright, I think I can fix both of them today. Anything else?" Rebecca "Actually, one more thing. Sometimes I hear someone humming in the hallway at night. The noise keeps me up." Landlord "Sorry about that. That’s me! Sometimes I clean the hallway at night when I can't sleep..." Rebecca "Oh, it’s you? I'm sorry. Then never mind! I'll think of the humming as a lullaby. Haha."
